Wow folks it's here. The Winter Olympics! Spawned from COVID-19 and the 2022 Beijing Olympics, Ecliptic launched 4 years ago only known to wet market vendors. By the grace of God, we are somehow still spreading fake news throughout our micro niche community platform today. There are a few things that have changed: my lip filler place of choice, our home mountain, and the features and functionalities of Ecliptic but what has not changed is this community's penchant for competition.

Take events like Turf Wars from years past with the East Coast vs. West Coast: it's like watching Ayumu Hirano (West Coast) battle it out versus Scotty James (East Coast). Ayumu has triple cork. Scotty gets triple cork. Ayumu has kid. Scotty has kid. Ayumu gets documentary. Scotty gets documentary. Ayumu gets Olympic Gold Medal, and Scotty cannot afford. Very nice! To honor this competitive spirit, we are announcing two sets of events below: The Ecliptics and the 2026 Ecliptic Stock Events.

The Ecliptics

The Ecliptics are an event to go against the anthesis of Olympics and do not celebrate world harmony. Instead, we pit countries against each other for the ultimate prize of hosting the first ever in person Ecliptic Rail Jam in the late 2026 Spring or Fall/Winter 2026! The Ecliptics run from 2/1/26 to 2/23/26 and the country with the most points win.

Scoring is simple:

  • Your country is determined by your profile’s home location (or our reasonable inference).
  • Clips: 1 clip = 1 point for your country.
  • Lines: Points equal the number of distinct hits in the clip.
  • Edits: Points equal the greater of (a) the number of distinct hits in the edit, or (b) the number of likes.
  • No duplicate clips or reused footage will be counted.
  • All footage must be filmed between summer 2025 and the event end date.
  • Countries may form alliances (e.g., New Zealand + Canada). However, the place of the rail jam will be at Ecliptic's management and my discretion. MWAHAHAH! To form an alliance, respond to mia@idx.style, DM us on Instagram or TikTok, or state your claim on one of your clips uploaded on Ecliptic.

2026 Ecliptic Stock Events

Taking another page out of the Olympics, we are adding 35+ events (THREE FIVE for those non english speakers) that are LIVE right now. Why? Well the Olympics does it for more viewership and we need that viewership and clips on Ecliptic too. The events are the following and use the corresponding hashtag when uploading clips to enter the events:

Must See Clips and Devology on Ecliptic

In honor of the Epstein files being released, drakeminor probably put Ecliptic on a watch list by dropping a backflip into a nice rail slide at Sundance. Also, enix_skieur (not sure if that stands for penis skier in French) dropped a 2 Out for a casual first clip upload on Ecliptic.

To support this progression, devs released an update where now uploads are processed better on the front end so we can "bool on the backend". Basically, you can upload longer and bigger videos 10x faster!
