Look, I hate mentioning companies on my blog if they don't pay for advertising. It's like watching a homeless person give a blackout drunk person food: unnecessary. Personally, I don't have any favorites, but Skian has supported Ecliptic by being one of our few Tow Rope Pass holders #SkianOnThem. Without him, I don't think Ecliptic exists today. #CoachKyle is also an unreal skier that put together a banger part in AbsORB. Wear a Seatbelt and Helmet

There are things in life you hear happen to others, but never expect to happen to you. Off the top of my head, I can think of a few —

1. Landing a dub in front of the chair
2. Hitting the griddy on your own worst enemy
3. Meeting Bonnie Blue on spring break
4. Winning a rail jam
5. Smoking a blunt with Tanner Hall

But as the ancient Mongolian proverb says:

"For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction."

So for every “Ecliptic” moment like the ones above, there must also be an equal and opposite... let’s just call it an “F-This-Sh*t-tic” moment.

After not receiving my Bisk and money for the last blog that I wrote for Ecliptic, I knew something was awry. I reached out to thelifty (Administrative Assistant of Ecliptic) mid January and he sent me this

"I was driving back from my girl's place in downtown St. Louis – the most dangerous city in America. After some Netflix and chill, I almost exploded for the second time that night when my car got t-boned by a drunk driver going 70-100 MPH running a red. I think he hits me one foot to the left, and Ecliptic, along with myself, is done. Unfortunately, even with the seatbelt fastened, I ended up hospitalized in the ICU for a week with multiple brain bleeds along with a massive Tua Tagovailoa concussion. Took a while for me to regain full verbal, motor, and cognitive functionality, but fortunately, the docs say I'm not going to end up like Aaron Hernandez. I also started working again so we can pay you Mia to keep the Ecliptic culture updated."

Now —

1. I’m glad thelifty is gonna make a full recovery and reclaim his one functioning brain cell.
2. I’m glad the doctors cleared him to finally refill his Adderall.
3. I had no idea the guy was radiating massive cuck energy by driving a RAV4 — but hey, it saved his life.

When I asked thelifty about the Ecliptic terrorist that hit him:

"Yeah, so the guy actually ran away when the EMTs came and the police have made no effort to find him. Turns out you can commit all the crimes you want short of murder or assaulting a cop in St. Louis if you just run away and do it with a car. I'll send ya some photos of the suspect"

All I can say is wow. As someone who ate box a few times back in college, I'm no homophobe, but I had no clue the gays had it in them to pull off something like this hit and run. On the plus side, it’s officially put St. Louis on the map for street spots. With the cops too busy solving serious crimes, it might be the best spot to hit rails in the Midwest.

I ended up sending him Derek.Grant's edit that just emits serotonin to boost his spirits and we have been cooking up some things for the last month of the season. Stay tuned and in the meantime, lets recap some of the top clips and and riders on Ecliptic since I last spoke.

Clip Talk

All this car talk has me gassed up. Someone who has been emitting a concerning amount of emissions over the winter has been none other than ethan. I don't know if all the gas pollution from China crosses over the jet stream and just gets absorbed by Seattle and Stevens Pass, as Ecliptic has had a startling amount of riders emerge from this area over the past few years. From gaffer and novybbg, to now ethan, we have been seeing everything from dub backies to 8 outs this year. We were also blessed with ethan posting one of the freshest kits of the year, emulating Simon Dumont from Slumdog Illionare. All we are missing are some classic violent hand gestures toward the camera.

Pacific Bug Mode West

Not to be forgotten, a few other clips out of the PNW were yung__zac's (old zac.sureman) 270 On Mute, novybbg's Switch Lip Back 2 Out, official_no_poles making room for the naughty list in his bag with a Bio 7, and gaffer's Back 2 Out Japan. Nothing says Bug Mode like dropping technical clips on Ecliptic and causing us to realize a few bugs in the process of viewing. These clips are not for low power mode 😤.

What's Going On in Utah?

I'm not sure we need to drop a reminder about the banned words on Ecliptic

But with names like drakeminor, diddyminor, and DickUDownDarrell on Ecliptic, it's clear the only thing going on rails other than skis and snowboards is baby oil down in Sundance.

Popping off this year has been zooted_in_paris, basically showing everyone on Ecliptic the first Cork 7. This was like watching a man go to the moon.

We also had some off the mountain extra circulars with Henry_Farley's backyard setup (apparently it's going to be the spot to be on 4/20), juniorT78 making good use of a bungee, and snortin_the_yort rockin' the Ecliptic logo.

Up north, we were witnessing eastonsauders have the air awareness of a cat along with mannysanchooo holding down Woodward PC. Finally, jamison.tidwell showed everyone who is boss on Ecliptic by dropping a casual Dub Cork 12 on the last booter at Three Kings. The 2024 Pushin' P winner is aging like a wine fine.

Ontario

Last but not least, lets not forget about the stalwarts of the Ecliptic community in Ontario. owen_edwards really did enter Ecliptic orbit by spinning the first 900 on a snowboard on Ecliptic.

We also saw marco pushin' p by adding a k-fed to his arsenal and potentially the greatest backyard we've seen on Ecliptic from miller and masonwalton.

I retract my statements from earlier, this is the place to go on 4/20.

Along with that, we had opium_zebra42 drop the first every Misty 7 on Ecliptic (casual Ecliptic NBD) and flamingo_plug go from Flat 3 to Cork 7 this year. Finally, cravingcolt888 healed up from injury to bless us with this switch lip back 2. Absolutely magnificent.

Ecliptic Devology

Stay tuned today as we release the first episode of Technical Tuesday on our Instagram and Youtube and then the first episode of First Snake ft. cravingcolt888 Wednesday. In the meantime, we released an update on Ecliptic where you can now tag your filmer when you upload a clip (or edit a clip) and we have loaded a list of default PFPs that you can choose from in addition to uploading your own photo. Suggestions are always welcomed! We are also 30 clips away from 1000 uploads in Ecliptic history. Incredible 😲.

Also, shout out to Andrew, youngskier69, and RideLikeHellCat for making us worldwide this year. Talma and New Zealand might be in polar opposites corners of the world, but we are united by Ecliptic (why do I feel like these are the lyrics to a Shakira song).
