Chloe Kim Injures Herself After Reading the Ecliptic 2025 Recap

2025, what a year. Ecliptic reached 1000+ clips uploaded. Data from Ecliptic Stats, our newest feature, shows a few riders entering the pro conversation, digging deep into a bag of tricks reminiscent of Alex Hall, Tess Ledeux, or Liam Brearley. Also, clips from around the world were uploaded. From the shitty terrain parks in Chile to fridges in New Zealand, a total of 13 countries were represented on Ecliptic in 2025¹. We united around a few things: pushing progression, filming better, more street spots for the poor, and advocating for more slut strands on the mountain. Finally, speaking of home turf, The West Side reigned supreme in the iconic Ecliptic Turf Wars – all that talk about East Coast being the Beast Coast and I'm not sure they will ever win 🤔.

Despite few online events occurring on Ecliptic last year, chaos still reigned on the app and outside of it. Ecliptic users like DickUDownDarrell, SakanaPP, moonless, opium_zebra42, and RideLikeHellCat took note from old Ecliptic legends and reigned terror in the park. Their actions were so powerful that they reverberated across the world and caused thelifty's apartment to be be completely destroyed by a tornado!

Regardless all the trouble at Ecliptic HQ, some pretty amazing clips were uploaded to Ecliptic. Now, for what you all came for: it's time to talk about everyone who made Ecliptic special in 2025 by announcing the Ecliptic Of the Year Awards (commonly referred to as the Oaties).

I knew ethan was going to be a problem when his first clip dropped was a 25 foot Disaster onto a down rail going Mach 5. Setting the tone for the season with some elite backyard setups, we saw everything from Cork 9s and Dub Backies to Back 3 Swaps and 810s out. It's a bad day to be Shane from Las Vegas or Kyle the Landord. You're officially on notice. This past year, ethan has undisputedly made sure he is a name to watch out for in the Pacific Northwest ski scene. We would not be surprised at all to see him riding for a few companies by the end of the next year. Your 2025 Pushin' P Skier of the Year doesn't just have a bag of tricks or OG Swag–he's got IT. Thanks for all the support for Ecliptic dude. You're the reason why we do what we do!

Pushin' P Snowboarder of the Year

Forget one of the all time greatest Ecliptic usernames ever created, zooted_in_paris came onto Ecliptic and took over. Rocking Seraphim, zooted_in_paris started off the season hucking backflips on standard runs at Sundance to stomping Cork 720s, going 270 onto rails, and taking advantage of everything the Sundance terrain park offered. Between the technicality of the clips and the all gas no breaks mentality, Zooted didn’t just join the community; he became the heartbeat of snowboarders on Ecliptic, cementing his legacy as the undisputed Pushin' P Snowboarder of the Year.

Not sure what the Beaver Mountain park crew was thinking when they set up a challenge rail that consisted of a Down Rail to Up-Flat-Down Rail to an Up-Down Rail. Sliding this rail defies basic AP physics. So does Level 1 Super Unknown Attendee Skian. We were truly blessed to witness Ian #SkianOnThem in 2025.

There might be no better way to get school cancelled than setting up a jump and covering the entire staircase entrance to school with snow. Not because people can't get to school, but because of 50 pending lawsuits when people inevitably slip going up and down the stairs. Wait, nevermind, I forgot. This is Canada. Shout out to flamingo_plug for the insane progression this year along with turning the world into his playground!

Get spinning get paid. It's as simple as that. Between landing back lips to front blunts, we could have picked any of Andrew's clip from the fridge in Auckland. He rides a snowboard like the Green Goblin on a hoverboard. Rumored mentor Snoop Dogg once said "we need to regulate the steel" and I'm glad Andrew has taken his advice.

Just a classic reminder to wear a helmet and realize that your brain isn't fully developed until your 25. The old adage, "no pain, no gain" does apply here because the progression from Marco out of Blue Mountain Ontario is undeniably insane.

We really couldn't decide between these two so lets break it down. Gaffer probably has one of the most electric days in freeski history after stomping a Rodeo 450 on B2 out, Dub Backie, Dub Cork 10, and a Superman Frontflip all in the same day at Big Sky. Maybe the only other person in the world that can a Rodeo 450 on B2 out is Jesper Tjader. Meanwhile, jamison.tidwell is throwing down a Sw Cork 5 Screamin Semen and a Rodeo 540 Screamin at Woodward Park City all in the same day (not sure if this has ever been done either). Words really don't describe the clips, so you have to watch them for yourself.

I finally know what it feels like to be a member of an uncontacted Amazonian tribe when they see a drone taking photos of their activities. Watching Owen do a front 9 made me jump out of my seat, grab my bow and arrow, and start chanting "SHARK BAIT OOH HA HA".

With the mainstream freeski and snowboard industry now pushing for more "accessibility", "playful features", and "inclusive community spaces", it is always great to see somebody go big dawg on Ecliptic and launch into the stratosphere. Us less fortunate riders who only go to tow rope parks in fridges (myself included) think half the time the clip above is AI generated by a 50 year old man in India; however, shout out to Easton Saunders for being the 855-FAT-N-BIG real one of the year.

I was recently on TikTok where I saw a video of some chick gasping as she was struggling to ski and then took videos of people drinking beers and smoking that loud on the chair, unable to comprehend how people can do such activities "under the influence". Look lady, first this is my normal state, and second, it's important to acknowledge those who send with a perceived self inflected disadvantage. You a real one Freakysmitty for hitting this "NON-ALCOHOLIC" drink. Also, incredible shotgun time for those measuring at home. Sub ~3.5 seconds is entering elite territory. If this skiing thing doesn't work out, there is always a second career as an apres ski instructor! #ApresAllDayBetchesss

Between the sun, the sound of skis hitting metal, filming better, and the big sends in Derek.grant's edit, it certifies Newton's 3rd Law of Physics. A white boy in motion stays in motion.

Afterbang: noun. Definition: an action a skier or snowboarder does that exudes confidence after stomping a trick. From a technical perspective, these actions are typically defined by a human having hands near pockets, hips out, and a slight lean after stomping set trick. For more examples, you can refer to novybbg on Ecliptic, Dusty Henricksen, Matej Svancer, or Sexxy Redd music video.

NBD of the Year

Some people can just do it all folks. We're not sure what is next for yung_zac, but between Ultimate Frisbee, Skiing, and Snowboarding, he's a certified #athlete. Now, 2 years ago if you were to tell me the first ever trick to be done on skis (ever) uploaded to Ecliptic was a K-Fed Self Frisbee throw, I would have thought you were on crack. Really what the Friz-Fed shows is that the mountain is a canvas. It encapsulates the beauty of freeskiing and snowboarding. Anything is possible and tricks are infinite. Did I just win a Pulitzer Prize?

I wish my parents loved me enough to build an entire backyard equipped with a tow rope, a 40 foot down rail, a medium jump, and an assortment of other rails. This backyard might be better than half the terrain parks in the midwest.

From Seattle to Japan, last year aidsskii delivered the third movie Pacific Rim franchise any powder in sight. No cliff, pillow line, or drop was too big and as a result we were blessed with some of the most dopamine boosting clips on Ecliptic.

I think these two come in pairs. Not because I queef when I snort the yort, but because these two were constantly setting up backcountry booters at Sundance honing in their backies. It's really the perfect way to progress. Hopefully, Ecliptic did not blow up your spot.

Halfpipe Rider of the Year

I've been mentioning Jamison's name a ton in the honorable mentions, and it's not that I hate him. It's just if we solely evaluated this article by pure skill and not which way the wind is blowing a certain day, he might win every category on this list. The 2024 Pushin' P Ski Award winner appears to have added a new facet in his skiing arsenal: the halfpipe. First, it's not everyday you see a 900 in the halfpipe on Ecliptic. Considering there are ~11 in the world (2 in China, 1 in Laax, 1 in Mammoth, 2 in Park City, 3 in Colorado, 2 in Japan, 1 in Saas Fee), we consider this to be a pretty big feat! Second, if this was thrown down in a women's halfpipe competition, Jamison would be gunning for 1st place. My ladies need to pick it up!

What makes a great filmer? Off the top of my head it's five things: hype for the homie you are recording, a knack for spot selection, having a six sense for framing the shot in an artistic beautiful way while showcasing the technical specimen on snow, and fire ad-libs after a trick is stomped. Recording horizontally, with a Sony handycam, and dropping before the rider in frame goes is always a plus. Shout out to Logan for capturing Ethan's clips the whole season. The group chat must go 10x harder than the one I'm currently in debating about what nature element describes my personality.

This isn't a participation award: Hype man of the year award is to recognize that without cravingcolt888, Ecliptic and his homies progression would not be where it is today. A staple in the Ontario ski scene, cravingcolt888's progression has been insane to watch over the last three years. Furthermore, traveling all over Ontario and Quebec, I'm not sure if anyone has put Ecliptic on to more people than Owen. We salute you for making sure that not all the likes on clips are not just from thelifty, dropping great edits, and hopefully one day the rumored First Snake podcast drops.
